Slept out behind the White Pass gas station last night, in a clearing of tall grass. I was woken up to the sound of the drumming coming up from inside the ground. Branches snapping and the scraping of rock. Shining my light in the direction of the sound revealed two huge eyes high off the ground: Elk. It stuck around most of the night, rooting through the bushes or giving off its high pitched bugle call, keeping me awake. Still sitting at the gas station waiting for my box to arrive.
